Siris Amsterdam (previously Jean-Philippe Rebuffet) is a photographer specialized in cinema set design, selling artworks to be installed on movie sets. In 2009, He contracted with Warner Bros. and sold Photography prints for the set decor of Time Warner's Sex and the City 2, apartment of Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker).
Siris is also a software engineer for museums' collection management and managed two majors cultural websites, eMuseum Network and Photomuse.
Since then, he decided to focus on his "inner self", his traumas, dreams, and experiences through fine art photography, creating projects to fulfill his creative visions as an artist, a philanthropist, and a dreamer, influenced by Man Ray, André Kertész, Yousuf Karsh, Annie Leibovitz, and Richard Avedon, to name a few.
"I wish every single picture I take were a witness of my own emotions, my confusions, my fears, my quest for beauty.
Anywhen, everywhere."
-- Siris Amsterdam
About me
A unstable, volatile, and dangerous dreamer who believes in himself, using photography to understand what that means. I am not sure I believe in God but I wish God believes in me, taking me in physical or emotional places where he wants me to click the shutter.
Above all, I wish my pictures were immortal, invincible, like the great seagulls of my new home on Roosevelt Island, New York City.
